I did it! Physically not too bad but my legs were tiring towards the end.
As usual those pesky gremlins were creeping in as I started the first run making me feel it was an impossible task. I broke it down into landmarks and songs. Thinking by the time I get to there this many minutes will have passed. By the time I've listened to two songs I'll be half way, that kind of thing. Hoping the same tactic keeps me going for run 3! As usual I finished the session thinking wow that wasn't so bad ππ

It is a roller coaster ride. Before a run, I can't wait to go and it will be amazing, I start running and the first few minutes it is horrible - why do I do this? Then I start to enjoy it, I am a natural runner. Very well done for another successful run, you did so well. Same with your next one, nice and steady, plod on and if it's not going to kill you, keep going!!
That's exactly the way I feel (apart from the natural runner bit). Once the first minutes are over it's fine and the time flies by, but the first minutes are horrible. Actually that's a bit depressing, I thought things would be better for graduates!
I am looking back to when I was on the programme! It totally does get better because fitness keeps building, no burning calves nowadays, can even muster energy to cycle on running rest days and have run 12 km and loved it x
W5R2 was actually one of my favourite runs, for once there was no wind and rain and I found a good rhythm for the first time. Take it really slow on run 3, I went too fast and suffered for it. Even if you think you are slow already, slow down some more!
Go PumpKim, you did it! That's fantastic, well done you Am so chuffed for you... You kicked those gremlins into touch and that's a tough thing to do. Cor, run 3 next for you. I reckon you're a safe bet to nail that one too
The pressure is on me for run2 tomorrow nowthen! I reckon a bit of 'eye of the tiger' and a special blend of power ballads and cheesy 80s tunes on my playlist might help me through.
I've toyed with listening to an audio book for run 3.... as in I'll be finished this run even before this chapter ends. Maybe not. My Cuban beats keep me going... and really make me fancy a mojito when I finish π
This is me tonight but at the Gym. I'm going to look at the TV guide for BBC 1 to make sure there is something riveting on so I won't notice 8 minutes! Ha!!!
Go, go go..! Those naughty gremlins...just ignore them completely..they get fed up and hide!
Songs in the head are really good...I still focus on landmark points..like the school sign or the wood on the corner.. it always works.. even when sneaky hills rise up...
