After my battles with the gremlins during W7 I left it until about 7:30 this evening before starting W8. It was a beautiful evening, the sun was still shining and a lovely cool breeze made it ideal.
I purposely slowed my pace to start with and felt as if I was jogging at my normal walking pace. I had none of the problems with my tracker or music, which had also plagued me on W7. So all in all a good start.
The gremlins were not sitting on my shoulders this time, they stayed a couple of paces behind me, trying hard to catch up and taunt me. They failed, they gave me the determination to keep going. Even though my legs felt heavy at times, my metal attitude was completely different, more positive, the thought of stopping didn't enter my head, even when I tired during the 3rd K.
I ran for another 2 minutes at the end, 30 in all, managed 3.95k, with my best averages pace of all the continuous runs so far.
I'm chuffed, all is good again, I can do this, and maybe one day soon I will manage 5k too! Happy days!
