Managed 4 of the runs but then felt a pain in my right back of foot (achilles tendon). So I stopped jogging and just walked the rest. Do I need to do pre-walk/exercise stretching? Any tips welcome. Beautiful morning for getting out there!

I don’t know much about Achilles’ tendon issues (it’s probably the one running injury I have yet to have!) Am sure if you Google it, you will find some helpful stretches. If the pain persists, do go see a GP or sports physio...sometimes it better to address the cause rather than treat the symptom - and a physio is best for that. Hope it was a “one-off twinge and that you feel much better soon.👍

For Achilles eccentric heel drops are highly effective and are best done several times every day.

You did exactly the right thing in stopping running.
