Just done the run after a two day break due to aches and pains. That's week 1 out of the way and I feel mentally awesome. The same can't be said physically but after reading lots of posts, I'm going to keep on going. If I can do week 1 after 10 years since last running, then roll on W2R1. Keep it up, everybody :)

Congratulations on completing week 1, that's a massive achievement. The secret now is to just keep going at your own pace. Before you know it you will be at week 5 and over halfway through the programme!

W1 in the bag ... well done you!

To help reduce those aches and pains remember to keep it slow and steady and do your stretches afterwards.

Good luck and happy running!

Just make sure you take a day off and you can even take 2 days break if nec, like you I had some strange pains after week 1! I walk on the rest days

Well done for completing W1! For the pains, streching is essential after the runs but also on rest days. And indeed as ebcroquet said, if you have a bit of time, to get rid of the contractures, walking is great (or swimming/aquagym). You may think it would make things worse but on the contrary, if you drink well, it will help eliminate the toxins. Hope you'll find the next runs easier!

Well done, youve done the hardest bit.

Week one was a big step. Roll on week 2 and you will really start feeling a bit fitter

Well done. I did run three on Friday so we're at the same sort of place. Halfway through I remembered someone on here saying talking to yourself is a good way to keep your pace right so I tried it. I might have looked a bit weird to passers by but I'm sure it did help. W2r1 coming up later today, must think of some good conversation.
