After the first 3 'failed' runs (unable to complete all 8 minutes and only managed 1 minute the first time), it's time to do 'Run 3'. Even if it took me 6 runs to complete the first 3 properly (I'm pre-visualising that today will go well).
And I have a Buff and a small floppy water bottle. I feel like a real runner. 😀

Good luck today, and don't forget that there's no such thing as a fail, any incomplete runs are purely practices. You will learn from them (I have!) and taking that knowledge out with you next time will help you along.
I love running to music, so I made a playlist with alternating walking songs (110 bpm) and running songs (135 bpm). And I can still run more slowly even if the cadence is consistent. Let's see what happens...
It did, thank you. Average pace of 11'43"/km over 3 km, so 58 minutes for 5k if I kept it up. A personal best and that's Week 1 DONE.
Anyone know how long would be considered a typical time for a Parkrun's 'tail'? i.e. how fast do I need to go before the tail walker starts crowding me? I want to be able to go faster than that.
