Completed week 4 run 1 tonight. Felt great, looking forward to week 5. Can't actually believe I'm able to run at all after 17 rounds of chemo and 5 weeks chemo/radio but I can 😁. I'm due a big op in March and I'm going to invest in some proper running trainers when I'm able to get back to it after my op.

Well done, Annie! Going in for an operation fit should make for a better recovery. It must be so tough running after all that treatment, but you are tougher, clearly! 💪 I am in awe. Keep at it. And all the best for your op in March. x
Well done you, an inspiration to all the rest of us that moan about being tired when you’re doing this AND dealing with an illness and all the treat ever that involves 😳
WOW well done you and thank you, that’s just given me the kick up the @rse that I needed to get my run done today. Good luck with your runs and your op xx
Amazing work, Annie! I'm just at the end of my third week of radiotherapy now with another week to go, having done the surgery and 5 months of chemo last year. I'm starting C25k after I've finished the radio so I've got that ticked off and I can't WAIT!! Have you found it's helped with the chemo/radio fatigue at all?
Hiya, tbh I didn't have any tiredness with my radio really. I had an upset tummy in the last week but probiotics and digestive enzymes really sorted that. I took them all the way though. I had a small surgery 2 weeks after radio finished and started C25k after that. Honestly I feel great so get going as soon as you can afterwards, it will only help.
Wow, you are amazing! After reading this I’m sure I can never find an acceptable excuse not to go for a run. What an inspiration. Good luck with you journey, both with your health and your running, let us know how you get on!
What an awesome post! Makes my minor aches and pains seem trivial. And they are compared to the trials of those with cancer. Good luck in March, hope all goes well and don't forget to post to let us know how you are. (But wait till you are off the table!) Go get gait analysis and splash out on really good trainers, after all they have to last a long time. Big hugs to you and everyone suffering illness.
We went to one called Sweat Shop, Runners Need is another. But any dedicated sports/running shop should do it. It is usually free and can make a real difference to your running and help guard against running injury. Most may try and sell you insoles that are moulded to your feet. They last about 1000 km's. We nearly didn't and we would have regretted it. 500 km's in and still so comfortable and I can honestly say, no injury at all.
Proper running trainers and insoles are best option. Fashion trainers will just cause problems. Take a look on YouTube for "The Running Chanel" Light hearted, informative and will help. They did one on cheap trainers from Decathlon. So, keep going (OK, we'll let you take a break in March!) But come back to us, you are a runner now and that means you are one of "US".
Well done you are an inspiration.I am struggling with fatigue. I am on week 2 run 3 but although Im okay during the run I am exhausted when I get back. I have to lie down and eat a bowl of cereal.
Should I give up until my chemo free week?
Previously I am pretty fit and ran 5k in 30 minutes.
