W6R3 - Completed...…..

OK, 6am, windy, +2 degrees... horrible conditions. I did NOT enjoy it.

I am not overjoyed at running for 25 minutes - even some 3 hours later.

I was cold, sweaty, and not looking forward to the next 9 runs.

During the run, my gremlin was telling me that my shoe was rubbing a bit, and probably going to cause a blister... my hamstring was feeling tight, and I was probably going to be injured, my calf was sore, probably going to cramp up...

This is the first time that I have felt genuinely grumpy about running...

Completed it out of pure moody stubbornness.

I do not feel like a runner, sorry Laura. I feel like a lump, shuffling around the block, disturbing cats. Like a walrus trying to be a panther...

The logical part of me is quite interested in the latest gremlin attack ploy, I had no idea that my mind was so devious/cunning.

Glad I’m not the only one that gets gremlins when working out/running. I tell myself I’m to old or I’m not fit enough or I just can’t do it. We have to block it out

You did it though 😁

You should be proud that you didn't listen to the gremlins.

I am due to run run 2 of week 6 later today - hope my gremlins behave!

Stubbornness and bloody mindedness is sometimes all we've got

Look how far you went too - impressive ☺

Good luck with week 7 🏃 ☺

Well done for doing it. Do you think it might help to slow down a little bit and try to develop a rhythm? I know this plan is called C25K, but not many actually achieve that by the end of the plan - the main aim is to be able to run continuously for 30 mins, and speed/distance can be worked on thereafter. Just a thought, as it seems you really don’t enjoy it 😁

Well done for getting out there! Would slowing down a bit help? Your tracker suggests you might be running quite fast? Maybe think about switching off the tracker altogether- this stage of the programme is building up the longer runs and they get longer! So maybe ditch the tracker and just run slowly.

Good luck - We all have runs which are tough.

Nevertheless, you did it. 👏🏼 And you’re speedy. And nearly to 5K, which -no matter the title - is really unusual until several weeks after getting to 30 minutes in W9.

So you are officially amazing. 🎉 And if you want to enjoy it a bit more, then: 1) the weather is likely to improve from today’s nasty, and 2) you could afford to run a bit slower & feel more relaxed. Or not, if you like being speedy. So good for you. A rising star. ⭐️ Keep on and axe those gremlins. 😄

Not what you're looking for?
