Thank you to everyone who responded to my earlier post with help and advice for leg pains. All your suggestions were greatfully received and put to good use. I had a great run today and just feel I have run-tired legs, rather than painful ones.
I have picked up many useful tips and learned a bit about myself as a runner......
β° I don't have 'early morning runner's legs', they protest too much afterwards, even though the hectic mum schedule would sometimes prefer it otherwise...
My legs take a while to warm up and definitely don't like to run πββοΈ before everyone else in the house is up π.
My legs need the additional warm up of a dog πΆ walk πΎ before running.
Dynamic stretches work for me π€ΈββοΈ.
A good physio is worth their weight in gold.π
The π―π΅ Japanese Slow Running technique (on YouTube) helps to reduce impact, set pace and good foot placement - slow and slower still π.
That YouTube calf massage clip works wonders for tight muscles!! π
The foam roller really is my friend, even though I like to pretend it isn't π€¬.
Extra rest days are part of the journey.... π§ββοΈ.
π Epsom bath salts are AMAZING, my legs love them π.
