TICK ✔- I wasn't grinning like a Cheshire cat on this run as I was on W4R1 but I enjoyed it just as much. Did the run in the evening this time. I found a little country park to add to the run which distracted me. And maybe a bit naughty but I went off piste and did an extra 5 minute run to get me back to my starting point. Bizarrely felt famished by the end of it but all I wanted to do was soak in a warm bath as my whole body felt a nice kind of tiredness. Even though I've lost 4 stone since last year I still have another 4 to go. I think it's because of this that I'm starting to feel aches. First it was my left hip after w3r1 now it's both hips and back too but not as much as the one hip when it started. I think it's purely the extra flab and the movement of it if that makes sense! My body is not used to moving like this!! I don't know if other larger ladies (and gentleman) can relate but already not even at the end of w4 and my calves that have been rock hard for decades have loosened up and I can feel muscle along both outer thighs. Its a bizarre sensation to me. I sit on the sofa or lie in bed and run my hands up and down my own thighs in awe and amazement 🤣🤣 I don't want to go overboard in buying things (have already stopped myself from buying wireless ear buds!) But I feel I may need to invest in some new trainers that are actually for running and not just walking around in. Mine are a good few years old and now I seem to be hooked and want to achieve the world 😲 (in 5K terms at least) I think I need to spend a few 'pennies' because I know the difference the right equipment can make.
Any tips on what to look out for with the right pair of running shoes? Is it too soon to be investing in some? Should I continue to see what sort of runner I am or something before investing?
Currently I can feel my left foot slide a little inside the shoe. Is there a particular type of sock I should be wearing?
Enjoy your runs everyone.
P.s. I still think my body and mind has been taken over by some of these 👽👾
