I had only managed to go out running once during the early part of this week. I had managed to find a reason morning and evening since Thursday not to go out for a run.

I was up early on Saturday morning and was sitting on the couch and had decidedto write off this week and wait till Monday to run again. Then I started to read a few posts on here and I leapt off the couch, donned my running gear and went out and had one of my most enjoyable runs. Not the fastest, not the longest just great fun. I ran with a smile on my face. And it was a timely reminder what this running lark is for me. It is not about PBs or ever improving performance it is simply about enjoying getting out there and doing something.

So thank you forum for reminding me of that and for quite literally getting me off the couch this morning.

Mission accomplished? As you say, literally off the couch and out there:)

As a few of us, this week have commented, simply running.... that is all there is it to it. I remember writing a post after I graduated last Christmas... I think I called it Running for Joy, because that is what it is .

Well done you...I am late this morning,, but just heading out too :)x

You know that song back in the early weeks that went 'it's so easy now, so easy now' (we all joked about it being so 'wheezey' now)! I find that song running in my head when trying to find an excuse not to run because once you graduate it really is SO EASY to procrastinate :-D

Good on you for getting off the couch NIGHTINGALE1 ! Loving that you're loving it - still :) :) :)

I know what you mean Nightingale1, if ever I feel low on motivation a quick read here always makes me want to get outside and get running.

Worth its weight in gold!

I felt a tad rough early this morning when I woke up, (I get it often) and thoughts were, I'm not doing Parkrun today! 😖but I got up made a cup of tea about 6.45am and start to feel better, went back to bed with tea & ginger biscuit's for me and wifey, and reading & listening to Anneka Rice on R2 who usually peps me up! anyway, I said to Mrs Dave shall I go and run Parkrun! to which she said YES! go and do it! to which I jumped up out of bed and donned my kit and made it out of the door just in time to turn up and do some warm up and made a PB! so glad of the achievement! But yes I know what it can be like, I sometimes need a bloody good push with my low mood in the mornings!😊
