Week 5 - great first run of this week.

I took run kit to work today. I usually walk each way (nearly two miles) but today I ran home, leaving a bag of clothes at work. I did some detours to get the timing and distance right. It just felt great. Can’t believe I’m saying this!

Off to read other posts 😊😊

Well done on taking a run kit to work in the first place! Your post made me laugh in agreement, as I keep saying things about running that I never thought I would! 😊

Great dedication and running. The bell in the next run means you’ve beaten the first half of this plan... enjoy.

Oh yes that’s true. I was thinking g that this is the tipping point week but I will get such a boost from the bell now! Thanks 👍😊

That is very admirable...and committed. Have fun on your runs. 😎 Then stroll into work looking all sporty. Well done.

😊 I can’t Imagine running *to* work. I have a tomato coloured face when I have run. But running home was perfect.

A student told me that there are new run routes signed around campus and asked if I was doing those. I’m not up to that either!! In your post you said you’re wary of park run because you may see people you know. I feel the same about campus runs. Imagine being overtaken at triple speed by my students 😂😂😂

Aaah now I totally agree (I mis read). Definitely run home not to work. Another teacher? (I'm an x college lecturer of IT).

My old students would be not be impressed with my trainers either...theirs were always pristine!

in reply to Nilsam

Yes. Lecturer! My students are a right old mix - even with trainer cleanliness!

Tee hee. There are a lot of us on here. Maybe running helps with that teaching stress. Enjoy your day.

A dirty trainer is a trainer fulfilling its purpose! You wouldn’t want to deprive your trainers of purpose, would you? 😊👏🏼

What a great way to fit in your run 😊 it’s a great feeling when you realise your on the home straight of the programme. Keep going and don’t worry about your students - we’re here cheering you on

Thanks! 😁😁 I spend a lot of time figuring out how to space my run and rest days! This helps!!

Wow running home from work is impressive

in reply to SueAppleRun

I do normally walk it 😝 so it wasn’t too much extra to up the pace I guess. Just a lot of organisation! Today I had to carry home yesterday’s clothing, for example!

I keep hoping i can walk to work. it so far cold dark wet mornings have me grabbing the car keys

in reply to SueAppleRun

I gave up my car for environmental reasons when I got a job back in my home town. Luckily I only live a half hour walk away and I bought waterproofs!

I’m also lucky because there’s a bus route for most of the journey and that gives me options if it’s absolutely chucking it down.
