Today I educated my "inner Enid" by showing her / me that we can achieve!
It raised my spirits to see that graduate symbol on the screen having completed the final run of week 9.
It was cold so, wearing a borrowed beanie hat and thermal vest, I plodded on to prove that I could.
My inner Enid is waving and happy (because the inner me is so happy). I think we can change. One step at a time. Thank you to this amazing inspiring community that is suddenly our world!

Thank you, Jalapenolover101. Crazily so. After all I almost think it is week 9 run 1 that should be celebrated as that is the first time you run 30 mins. But I suppose run 3 of each stage shows you can keep it up. Happy running π
Thank you, MrWomble. I love the name by the way. π
Oh well done to both of you! So proud that Enid has now completed her education. I'm looking forward to what she does next with her new 'Graduate' status π!
Oh how fantastic! Well done! Isn't it amazing! I think running has become very important for you so I hope Enid is happy (she certainly looks it). Whopee! My post to follow in a minute! Bet you needed that hat - it's cold and windy out there!
Thank you, Oldgirlruns. I admit I haven't looked at the distance. Just the 30mins. Hope to push for the 5k speed before I would feel credible to move on. ππ£
For me that was enough - I only managed 3k in the 30 minutes and am not much faster now! Well, Iβm no faster really but I can just keep going for longer!
Me too. I might not be able to resist looking at distance soon! Not sure about park runs though.... Am being encouraged to do one with my serious runner friend but not sure it's my thing - yet.
That's brilliant. Congratulations to both of you and I look forward to hearing how you are getting on with your running journey I the future. Hooray! πππ€πππ₯πββοΈπ₯³π€ΈββοΈππΎ
Thank you so much, Wenderwoo. I really appreciate your support. The celebrations will not be π₯ as doing a dry January but the thought it there. π π
Thank you so such, Redvic97. Just behind you. πββοΈπββοΈConsolidation runs into the mist and maybe a little dance around the kitchen. ππ
Whoop whoop, CONGRATULATIONS πΎπππππππΎ, I m raising a mug of tea to you ( and Enid) as I am also doing dry January, and probably February π¬.
Ooh lovely, Jell6. Thank you I am wearing a silly grin. π΅ It will be an earl grey or a herbal, as I am nearly 5 months dairy free too. π
My daughter uses soya milk in a builders tea but I haven't acquired a taste. Good luck with the running and going alcohol free...I am sure it helps. ππ
Roxdog, I have just had the best cup of tea for 5 months. Thank you so much for the Hemp milk recommendation. I may even go and put the kettle on again. Thank you again.π΅π
Thank you so much, Dexy5. It may be a while before I "Bridge to 10k" with you but we are reading the posts already. As usual Enid doesn't think it's a good idea. But...
Tell Enid not to worry, I played Pooh sticks on the bridge for at least 3 months before I joined JuJu's magic plan. Consolidation is the way to go for at least 3 weeks to build up on what you've achieved. You will know when the time is right to go further.
I can recommend parkrun, even if you can't run the whole 5k at this stage. I have become a parkrun addict since my first run on the Saturday after graduation.
Thank you, Dexy5. I may have to find that bridge for Pooh sticks. I really should to try a park run but part of me would want to sure I can do it.(Enid /me is worried that I would see people I know π€«). As I run on my own I feel the only people who know I run is this forum. So I think I better put my big knickers on and get a grip! π
Yes it is so supportive and many at our parkrun walk it all. I started at the back and stuck with my c25k week 9 5min walk 30 min run with Jo Whiley and then walked the rest. I was surrounded by happy smiley people and marshals cheering the novice runners on. But take your time till you feel confident.
Thank you so much, Comfortnotspeed. Your posts are always encouraging to read. I won't attempt the handstands in your icon but the thought is there. Perhaps I can get Enid to do one. π
Congratulations, how amazing to have gone through an incredible journey.
Now donβt let the momentum drop, donβt forget to consolidate for a few weeks (run 3 x 30 minutes a week) - you can still use your c25k W9R3 programme for that.
And why not hop on over to the Bridge to 10k forum when you are feeling ready to see whatβs going on there and if you want to look at 10k as the next step, thereβs plenty of time and it might feel daunting now but you have it!
For now... enjoy your graduation and keep up the good work β€οΈ
