My inner ego, Enid, needed little encouragement when reading that tonight is the Summer Solstice and that we should wear yellow and dance outside.
Dance is a great rest day activity and as we are building up to re starting Couch to 5K the more we get out there the better.
How many of old C25k graduates are thinking of restarting soon? I/ we are building general fitness but its the running I want to get back to ....even if I am dragging Enid with me this time. π£ππΌββοΈπββοΈπ€¦ββοΈ

π π I love your picture of Enid! Glad to read that you are warming up to restarting. Iβm looking forward to you posting your runs again π and giving Enid a whole repeat experience!
Thanks, Delly-dot. Tried fast walking with arm strapped up last week but hand was swollen so I know I must be have patience. It has made me do more work on sit ups and exercise bike etc. Take care and happy running for you. πββοΈRight behind you. πββοΈ
Hello Nilsam,
I love your image of Enid dancing in her yellow dress, definitely inspiring me to go find something yellow to wear and dance on this beautiful summer solstice.
Iβm hoping to restart soon, Iβve been set back with first illness, then injury after a nasty fall whilst out running a month ago π, .... but hopefully only my confidence still to heal. I hope youβre all mended now too.
Hopefully when weβve done our dancing weβll be all ready to get going again. π€
Oh JorgeRuns I am sorry to hear about that. Thank you so much re Enid and I shall think of you dancing too if the weather holds. I have set an aim of July 1st even if it is week 0. (Three speedy walks for 30 mins in my trainers.) I hope you would feel able to join me even if not before. πͺπ£
Thanks Nilsam, and we did dance this evening, me and Mr Jorge, around our garden room, he in his yellow peril shorts π and then we went for a walk to see the sunset, lovely. Iβve pencilled it in for July 1st to join you, I might get out for some short slow trots next week in preparation. Thanks to Enid for her Solstice inspiration π€
Glad to hear that you are limbering up to restarting C25k. I love your picture it really captures a feeling of summer. No dancing for me..... Yet. But I did do a few rounds of Sun Salutation this morning in the garden after my run π
Ooh good one. Sun salutaion is very appropriate. Unfortunately it's even one armed yoga at the moment. π§πΌββοΈBut love your posts, dijep. Right behind you. π£
Yay! Good for Enid, enjoying the Solstice vibes π It sounds like youβre week on the road to recovery which is great news! Iβd love to get back to running, but my Achilles says no - it seems to be worse than ever and thatβs just with a 30 min daily walk π€ But Iβll be there in spirit ππ
Sorry to hear that, Wenderwoo. If you are outside walking now that is good news and not too locked down. I hope you feel mended soon. Good to hear from you. π
Go Enid! I love the idea of you both wafting around in yellow dresses dancing for the solstice. It sounds like you are keeping active despite ur arm. Hope the running comes soon. Xx
What a beautiful drawing and Enid looks very summer-solcistey! I bet you're excited to be nearly back to running- hope your arm is healing well.
I may have to join you re-starting. I haven't run for over 3 weeks now as I'm injured and so think it's going to be a while before I can run. Oh well, perhaps we need a post injury couch to 5k group! I expect it's different 2nd time around!
Oh wow, so sorry to hear you are injured. There are quite a few of us. C25K X 2....what is your injury? I hope you feel up to running soon. ππ£ππΌπ£ππΎ
I have a high hamstring injury - literally a pain in the bum! Got an online physio appointment and was told it's linked to sitting for long periods, which I am doing because of working at home. I also don't think my allotment work is helping. So I can'trun. It is easing a little, but I daren't run. I understand it's a tricky one to recover from. π’. Anyway, I have improvised a standing desk and also sit on a massive yoga ball. It's funny, because I am in lots of online meetings bouncing on my ball. Luckily I can turn my camera off!
I think I might have to re-start somewhere in the middle of couch to 5k, assuming I get rid of this soon. It is hard to do any cardio exercise, but am trying to exercise the best I can.
It's frustrating isn't it, but sounds like you've been keeping up your exercise! I'll be joining you for the recovery runs then sometime!
Sorry to hear about that, Roxdog. Home chairs are not always as supporting etc as work ones. Hope recovery is quick. Take care. ππΌπ£πͺπββοΈ
Itβs great to hear you and Enid will be back soon Nilsam. You will find C25k much easier 2nd time round. Iβve been working back up after my ski injury too but I followed my physioβs plan on return.
Oh my word and another injured running friend. Sorry to hear that. Glad you have a plan of action with a physio. Hoping to follow the plan carefully this time and read all the advice. At least 2nd time through you know you can do it. πββοΈπ£
What a beautiful picture - you have really captured the joy and movement Enid is feeling. Lovely. π€. I am sure you will enjoy C25K even more the second time round - you will probably find it easier as you may be fitter and also slot very quickly back into the 'snail's pace we need!!! I do find this hot weather very hard to run in and if I could paint my 'Enid' she would be beetroot colour! β€πββοΈππ§ββοΈπ€
Made me giggle...look out for the beetroot faced Enid in the future. Thank you so much for your support. I hope you are right about 2nd time round. π£π
