Thanks Buddy, we are still tired but did manage shopping today, yesterday i baked but we can’t live on baked foods forever it’s nice to have fresh food in the house
Its only 3 or 4 days for the nicotine to be gone from your body, the rest is mind games. I started to feel free after about 2 weeks but if I'm honest it wasn't that bad. The worst part was sitting down after dinner and getting a craving for a smoke, this was just pure habit and because there is no physical addiction left you can just tell yourself to stop being stupid and do something else. It's well worth the effort and nowhere near as bad as arguing with yourself to go out for a run or telling yourself that you will never finish this particular run. If you can do those you have easily got this. Persevere it really is worth it
8 days, that’s over a week! Absolutely fantastic. Sounds like a slow road to recovery but you’re both getting there. Thanks for the update - I was thinking of you both last night when out for my run.
Glad to hear that you're both on the mend and (from a non-smoker) hearty congratulations on the smoke-free 8 days! You're obviously a determined person, so I'm sure you will soon battle through this, but at your own pace. Thanks for keeping an eye on us all from your couch.
Excellent news. This flu bug is horrible. I ended up in hospital overnight. Having a cough with 3 broken ribs is not much fun. Think I'll be back to week 5. Absolutely no consolidation done since graduating. Well done on giving up smoke. It's a great achievement. Bit not easy. You will get there. Take care.
Oh bless you both, glad you're at least on the road to recovery...my brother gave up smoking after 2 chest infections in the same year. It certainly reminds you how important having healthy lungs is!
Well done on 8 days smoke free, and good luck keeping it that way 👍👏
So glad you're both feeling much better and on giving up the cigarettes. You'll feel the benefit when you start your running again I'm sure. Speedy recovery to you both and just relax and enjoy your time on the couch. You'll come back stronger 😉
Getting there but it’s a bit slow, this flu is not much fun, short walk yesterday, docs this morning and he’s given me another 9 days off work, now i’m feeling better it’s not so easy not thinking about smoking but that will fade 10 days smoke free
Thank you i’m still counting the days down, and once a week adding my smoking money to my savings, the south coast here is dull today, we were going to have a walk but after buying wool and a hair colour we had been out long enough so are back home but my energy levels are definitely improving, and the doc this morning was amazed how well i am bouncing back after last week which just goes to show runners lungs bounce back after infection
