Feeling positive!

Just done first run of week 3 in C25K. I felt it was going to be a bit of a hurdle as I’d found the last run of week 2 quite hard . My fears were confirmed towards the end of the first 3 minute run when I honestly thought I would not manage the next 3 minute stint, but half way through the recovery walk something interesting happened and I suddenly felt much more energetic and positive and completed the next 3 minutes much more easily ... almost enjoyed it! Could this be the endorphins everyone talks about kicking in? Hope it continues! 😊

Well done Jinnyjampot. It looks to me like you're facing up to and beating the demons which form part of the mental challenge of C25K. I've found in my progression to where I am now that the mental challenge is far greater than the physical challenge. Once I'm sure that I can do a run for a certain length of time I find that I can sail through it. Once I have doubts however I crumble before I've even reached the length of run I managed last week. Good luck with the rest of this, you are officially on your way!

Thank you! I’m sure it is partly mental.. I’ve found good music a real help, and although running outside seems tougher than the gym , the sunshine is such a wonderful boost.

Slow and steady you will get there. Each run, each week makes you stronger. Make sure too as the runs begin to get longer to get plenty of strength and stamina work in on some of your rest days:)

Well done you!

I always find that the first 5 to 10 mins is hard.

Sometimes it gets easier, sometimes I just have to slow down.

But, you got through it with a great attitude.

Well done!

Keep on going!

That's great. Well done. Hang onto those times where everything feels good. I'm on week 8 and some runs feel great and exhilirating and others quite tough. I think it's good to remember the great feelings when you get in your stride as they build confidence and you can remind yourself that running can feel good.
