Just ending Wk2 and it’s going well...but gotta admit all of my enjoyment comes AFTER each run, not during! Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to sound negative as I feel so positive and healthy for the rest of the day after doing my run, bit I’d be lying if I enjoyed the run itself. Anyone feel like this? By the way, I am absolutely 100% committed to doing the full 9 weeks and complete a 5k charity race.
Let’s define “enjoyment”!: Just ending Wk2 and... - Couch to 5K
Let’s define “enjoyment”!
Haha, I get what you mean.
I love events and Parkrun is brilliant, but the daily plod around my local roads all by myself isn't something that shouts FUN at me.
C25K wasn't so much about fitness and running, for me it was a mental discipline to just keep going.
Don't worry too much about fun and enjoyment, focus on the achievement and the satisfaction you get from finishing. Whatever your goal and reason for C25K, that should keep you motivated when you really hate the run.
Well done for starting. Keep going. 🏃♂️👍
Yep!!!, Sometimes you have a run that you are enjoying,( not so often for me, they are doable, some are harder than others) but I invariably enjoy the after run.
When I get that rare, "I loved that run", it's fantastic.
That's why I run in the morning, so I can enjoy that feeling for the rest of the day 😊
Great that you are committed to the programme, it really is fantastic, and it's amazing how quickly you gain fitness. 💪
Yup! Especially when I started out and the whole thing was just effort from start to finish. I was just doing it for the runners high.
I do feel better now though. On some runs I can go for a full 5 minutes thinking, I quite enjoy this, I might actually be a runner!
Wait, we're meant to enjoy this? 🤣🤣🤣
Totally onboard with what you're saying.
There are some runs that I absolutely love. Really, really enjoy them. But they are few and far between. Its the post run buzz that I like. And going through the program, that sense of achievement after completing every week and the challenge of starting the next week.
Nope, you're not alone! But I'm still doing it
