So when I started, after each run which I would do first thing, I’d feel great and really energised for the whole day. Now I’m up to week 6 run 3 and finding the total opposite that I’m really tired the whole day and it’s making me want to give up.
1) Running for a long time is burning a lot of calories. It is hard work and is a shock to the system to a body that has been leading a sedentary lifestyle. It will take a little longer for the body to adjust to the change in routine.
2) It's just one of those things. Sometimes we have good runs and sometimes bad ones. Don't dwell too much on it.
3)You need to hydrate more and ensure good sleep to maintain the increased level of exercise.
I’m the exact same! I’m due to do W6D2 today but I feel so lethargic and would do anything to have a lie in rather than go for my run. I think we’ve just come this far that we’ve hit a mental plateau and we need to push through it. It’ll be so worth it in the end!
You are doing well... so, have you upped your rest day exercises?
Strength and stamina become increasingly important when the runs are getting longer. This is not just about running and there are so many exercises( non impact you can choose from to improve your core strength.
These exercises linked with a really sound healthy eating regime ... can all help you to stay vitalised and feeling motivated too
I'm also overweight (losing more so with this amazing training)
I'm only on w5 but what Ive already stated to do is extra walks after my runs seems to keep me more alive 😉
I also swim for 30 minutes twice weekly during my training which o find has helped me tremendously.
And keeping hydrated.
I've read a fair bit about dehydration on here recently which can cause tiredness etc so just keep hydrated 👍
I also found that light healthy snacks during the day have helped me so much, just an apple 🍎 banana 🍌 yogurt and it picks me back up if I start getting the tiredy feeling come over me.
