A failed run but a step in the right direction

Hi all, soooo...I was supposed to do 2x8mins today (wk5r2). That didn’t happen. I only completed 1x8min and 1x5min. My head got the best of me. I forgot to breathe. My thoughts were overrun with negativity. I gave up and went home. I am ashamed to say I was pretty down with myself afterward.

Forcing myself to snap out of it, I have come to realise that I did run 8 mins solid for the first time in forever... and backed it up with a solid 5mins. That is an achievement. One more run under the belt and one more step in the right direction.

I’ll rest tomorrow and repeat the run the next day. I am going to conquer this.

Good luck with your running. 🏃🏻‍♀️

Never a fail just a practice run. Like you say look at the positives. You can do it 😊😊

Jenpoh, you are spot on. It's all in our heads whether we finish what we start. I'm so glad you're celebrating your success too. I know it's a mantra...but slow down a bit and check out japanise slow running. Really good for your body.

What a great positive attitude... you ran for a solid 8 minutes and then 5 which you no doubt would have found difficult to do a few weeks ago. Keep going, you can do this 😊

Bang on attitude there - go you ⭐️ Sometimes a run doesn’t work first time, sometimes it can even take several goes. When I started I was so unfit it took me nine weeks of repeats to achieve week 1 😄 Not completing first time is just your body telling you it’s not quite ready. Try it again, slow and steady, until you do get it. This builds up strength, stamina and fitness which really pays off later in the programme. Always remember the First Rule of C25k: The only run you fail is the run you don’t go for ! Enjoy your journey x

No run is a fail, try and go a bit slower next time and you will run longer

Well done for getting this far

Yeah! Now that's the spirit! Well done for running the whole 8 minutes, did you think that would ever happen when you started C25K with those horrendously long 60 second runs? Every time you get off the couch and out there is a time to celebrate, I bet you'll smash this the next time you try, well done.
