How did you all do on your first run?

I did mine this afternoon.

I know that I’m unfit, not doing any exercise in 2 years (when I had my daughter) but jeez it was so hard 🙈

I’m completely in the same boat. Had my son two years ago and I’m so unfit. Tried the plan before and worst start yet! 😂👍🏽

Well done for making it to the end!

Wk1 R1 has got to be the hardest run of the program. I only just made it.

It was a real wake up call for me.

Great start, keep it up!

Thank you!

Gasping and struggling to breathe, but I did complete it.

It was so hard though.

Can’t say I’m looking forward to run 2.

Like you it’s a proper wake up call

The hardest lesson for me to learn, was to slow down. That didnt sink in until about week 4. Make sure you take your rest days. They are so important.

Good luck, and happy running!

Every run was hard and still is hard but I go further and faster for my efforts. That's why its so rewarding - its hard!

How far do you run now?

Yes it’s hard, I’m so envious of runners I see on the side of the roads making it look so easy .

I did a marathon in October - 18 months after starting 😁

Oh Wow that’s amazing, did you literally start unfit?

That’s fab well done.

Omg yes! Never been able to run in my life! 60 seconds in week 1 were tough! This is an amazing programme. Truly life changing. Just commit to running three times a week and don't make excuses to not go. Do parkrun. Join a club. Bridge to 10k. Sign up for races. The world's your oyster. If you look back on my posts, you'll see my journey 😁

You did the hardest bit when you put your trainers on and went out of the house, so good for you!

Go very slowly, trust the programme and don't look too far ahead. If you have to repeat runs or weeks, who's counting? We've all done it.

I look forward to reading your journey. You can do this. 👍

First run ? I did the first 20 seconds and nearly expired ! Seriously, I was so unfit I couldn’t run at all: had to start by doing 2 different walking paces and repeat incessantly. I celebrated achieving week 1 when most of the folk who started with me were graduating. So don’t worry - you’re doing great ! A lot of people really throw themselves into the first run and end up scaring themselves. Just take it slow and steady, and enjoy your journey x

You’re right about that, it’s not a punishment, but today I feel like it is 🙈🤦‍♀️😀
