So I went out for my second consolidation run today.
After being shamed into running on Sunday, I really should have got out yesterday. But who can resist running on the first day, not only of the new year, but of the new decade? Not me!
I must admit, after a very late and indulgent night, I really didnt fancy it. And although I did the same route as my last run, I did it in reverse, meaning I had to deal with the hills up front. Oh boy was that tough. But I did it, and I thoroughly enjoyed the last 10 minutes, running all down hill or on the flat.
So that's it. First 5k of the decade complete. Starting as I mean to go on.
Happy new year decade everybody and may I wish you lots of happy running.

You can and you will! I was never a runner. Thought it was dumb. But started this program in October and OMG what a shock to the system wk1 R1 was. Nearly killed me 🤣🤣
But here I am! Just keep coming back to us for support and motivation and you'll nail it!
It really is! I'm so grateful to you and all the gang for helping me through this. And my wife is a constant source of encouragement. I'm really very lucky, so it's a real pleasure to be able to give back too
Absolutely. I think it just before 3am when I went to bed. So I didnt see a great deal of the morning :-).
I'm using RunKeeper but I also have a fitbit. It's rare that they are ever close on stats though, which I think is bizarre considering they both use the GPS on my phone. Not sure which is more accurate!
I enjoy all of your posts because you just say it like it is and get out there and do it and achieve. Awesome to read as always. Very best wishes mate.
They have nothing on Brian! In fact, for my next consolidation run, I think I need to revisit the route that I did throughout C25K and say hello again to that monster of a hill.
Only the second time I've done this route. Must admit, it's a nice circular root for me. Although there are a few too many roads to cross for my liking, which breaks up the rhythm. Need to find more options I think!
Yep, the roads are pretty busy either side of the hospital. I live in the south of Wakefield so run around Newmillerdam, or at least try to! Although that can get congested with people at holidays and weekends.
Well done. My Park Run was in reverse today which should have felt weird but I cracked my PB👍. You should give it a go, I like being a solo runner but it does lift your spirits and you feed off everyone’s energy. 750 there today so lots of energy with some having done an early one somewhere else first😱 a commitment too far😂
I might be tempted (just the one in a day though), if only to get an 'official' time and see how it compares to what Fitbit and RunKeeper tell me. Perhaps one for a future Saturday.
