Poorly dog this morning so running solo. All was well until the last 2 runs where I slowed to a walk 10secs early, calves were hurting and really hurt on the walk back. Is this something I am doing or should I redo this one until I can do all runs completely?

Great for getting out and running this morning. Are you drinking the recommended 2-3 litres of water per day and not just on run days and are you stretching after EVERY run.

Just a couple of things that will help.

Hope your dogs feeling better😊🐕

She pinched a choc drop last night so think that was it! Thank you, haven’t been stretching but will start. Not great at drinking will work on that-going to start the stretch and flex on the non running days and starting the eating healthy when Xmas goodies gone! Lots to work on! But determined!

Well done.

As Buddy34 says poor hydration can seriously affect your performance and stretching immediately after every run, while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow.

There is no point moving through the programme until you have fully completed each session. Each repeat makes you stronger.

Well done for getting out there solo! There’s something very refreshing about a Sunday morning run before the world has fully woken up. What a fantastic way to start the week 😃

I’d say do that run again. The program is very carefully designed to build on each run step by step to get your body used to running and developing your stamina so until you can complete a run without stopping, you shouldn’t really move on.

Try again, and next time start off super slow so that you’re not wearing yourself out before the end of the run. Keep us posted. Good luck 👍🏼

I’d carry on and run the next run slower, but stop if you are in pain and stretch, depending on what you want in your future of running g I don’t think going slower or walking a few seconds early is an issue you are still out there and progressing

I would run it again, run it slower, drink plenty of water and eat several bananas 🍌 a day. They really helped me with calves on the early runs making me feel like I had permanent cramp. Good luck DaisyCL you can do this.
