It's a lovely sunny morning here today but I did have to have a few stern words with myself to get out of the house. This is definitely harder to do when you're back working full time. While Wednesday seemed easy, today was much more like hard work. Why is it that the second runs are easiest? Apparently I also don't like running in the sun. (I did consider going out in sunglasses but they're not built for running and I figured I'd look even more of a plonker than i already do!)
Anyway my eyes started watering almost as soon as I started the first run which is just annoying but did distract me from counting seconds or wondering when Laura was going to chime in telling me to slow down to a walk!! I soon got used to it but the first 3 runs just seemed a bit, well, flat really. My legs didn't seem to have the zing they did on Wednesday although I did run pain free this morning which is a plus.
I decided I was being lazy so really stepped it up on the last two runs where I was really actually running and not jogging. They were lung busting but wierdly, seemed to finally wake up my legs. I had enough energy left to jog the last minute of the cool down as well and the result? 4.5K!!!!!!!!!! Couldn't believe it!! Today also marks the completion of week one of my diet which has been surprisingly ok. I refuse to weigh myself after spending most of my 20's in slavery to the scales, but I can already see and feel a difference.
So now I'm pumped up and ready to start Week 3 on Sunday! Happy running this weekend everybody

Well done Fraz.. We've done it, another Week down. Its a bit like big brother WK 3 on the C25K programme and the runners are having ups and downs. I agree though R2 does always seem easier. I bought some new trainers (stable ones) as have a low arch which felt really strange and made my feet ache in different places. However completed it WHOOPIE, gonna down load W3, while i still feel positive and before the fear sets in .
I just skimmed through listening to week 3 and while I am scared of running for 3 minutes, on the plus side the podcast is 5 minutes shorter so I'm hoping i can find a happy balance. I will definitely be running cautiously on Sunday to make sure I don't stop!
This journey is so much more pleasurable to do with all you guys here. No way could I do this 'alone'. Congrats to my fellow week 2 completers today.
Fantastic stuff Fraz. How do you measure your 4.5km? I'm using Endomondo but forgot to turn on the GPS last time!! Will try that stern word or two if I get hesitant on Tuesday. Keep up the good work!
I have a kind of circuit that I do with variations. Today I added to it so I knew I had covered more distance and I just check my route on runmyroute.com on the satellite map which tells me how much I've covered. Hope it's all going well for you janda. I have Endemondo too on my mobile but always forget to switch it on!!
