Hi all, im on my 2nd ‘run’ of couch to 5k. I put run in quotes coss i cant run without it being unbelievably painful after about 10 seconds so i power walk. Soo my GP recommended this app to me since exercise is so important and I just wanted to see if anyone with lupus or fibro is also doing this and see how they’re doing??

Xx

I don’t have either of those conditions, but there are many people on here that do have health issues. I have Crohn’s for example, although it rarely affects me thanks to meds.

If your GP recommended this plan then presumably he thinks it might help. The only way to find out I guess is to try it. Well done you for giving it a go, and I wish you much luck 👍😁

My husband has fibro and I think he would find it difficult to run without pain, but he is fine using his bike.

I think fibro is different for everyone, there are some who would not be able to get out of bed, so I think you are doing just fine!

Keep on trying, but don't be disheartened if you find you need something with less impact. I really hope you can go running though, exercise is really good for fibro.

As an idea, maybe try a treadmill and see if that makes any difference - less impact and may help to strengthen your legs and joints first. Also road running and anything downhill will put more pressure on so stick to flat paths and fields if you are going outside. Hope it helps. 😁

Welcome to the forum and well done

on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

We have had many with fibromyalgia do this plan over the years and some have reported better pain control as a consequence.

Enjoy your journey.
