So I work away from home Monday to Friday, my Tuesday and Thursday morning runs are just on pavement around the block and I have been doing my weekend run on a Saturday morning in the West Auckland Waitakere ranges where we live. We had another Christmas party on Friday night so I skipped Saturday and planned to run this morning. I’ve been nervous about 5.3 for a while and woke up just as daylight was coming through the windows with a bit of a sense of dread, 20 minutes seems like an awful long time before you have ever done it! Anyway it’s done and it wasn’t an issue Laura really helped counting off the minutes every now and again and before I knew it I was into the last 5 and grinning like a loon. I even ran on for another 3 minutes and could have carried on but I stopped and did a 10 minute cool down walk and stretch instead. Feeling fantastic right now 😊
Bring on week 6!: So I work away from home... - Couch to 5K
Bring on week 6!
Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K
New Zealand might be 12,000 miles from the UK, but its nice that you have the same app with Laura as your coach as I have in the UK.
Feeling fantastic, why should you not, now go and celebrate. 😊
Onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran 🏃🏾 😊
Congratulations! No wonder u were grinning, it’s a real milestone. I burst into tears after mine haha 🤣 Fantastic pic too.
So encouraging to read as I head towards Week 4 with the longer runs and much less walking. It is great to hear how you feel running for 20 mins having followed the programme.
20 minutes may have seemed like a long time , but you did it . Congratulations 😊
Actually it didn’t seem that long while I was doing it. This program is at least 50% mental attitude I think 😊
I want to live there!!
Well done that run is rarely harder than we expect and makes us realise we can run, enjoy those views they are amazing
The track that I run on at the weekend is almost perfectly flat and runs for 4.2 km with a small car park at either end, my goal after graduation is to be able to run it in both directions without stopping. Well that’s my first goal at least. It’s a beautiful spot to go running and I have it pretty much to myself early in the morning. 😀
What an awesome view!
I knew you'd enjoy that run. Onwards and upwards. Over half way through now!
Excellent. Enjoy that feeling, it gets better from here on.
Congratulations on completing week 5 and the dreaded 20 min run. It was a mental hurdle for me and I don’t know about you, once I had done it I realised that I could complete the programme. It’s a great feeling, So well done, fantastic achievement, can’t wait to read your next post
Runner by Xmas!!!👏🏃♀️
Beautiful photo
Wow well done Rig, beautiful pic too 😁
That is my favourite place in NZ , the west coast beaches are wild and I miss the Gannets at Murawai . Is that the place with the picture frame ? You are lucky Rig !
The place with the picture frame is at the visitors centre which is on another route that we sometimes hike to, bit too steep for me to run that yet 🙂 it’s only a couple of km from where this pic was taken and the view is probably the same one so well spotted. We live in in Laingholm on a ridge overlooking the Manukau, we never get used to the view 😊
