I've just got back and I'm buzzing! Tonight is the best run I have had yet and the first time I have completed all of the run sections (I'm still on week 1 but this is the third week I've repeated week 1). I had a few days off last week as I've had a cold but felt loads better today and I'm so glad I went for it. The dreaded shin pain is gone too! Thank you to everyone for the advice, I slowed right down and that definitely helped although I think I'm running slower than I walk at the moment ๐ still, its progress. I noticed another pain in the soles of my feet that seemed worse when I was walking so going to keep an eye on that on my next run.. on to w2r1! ๐

Brilliant! Well done to you. Now you've got that added confidence to go into further runs!
Well done. It's a great feeling when it works. ๐
Try to land on the middle of your foot and land lightly. Listen to your foot strike the ground and make it as silent as possible. It should help. Good luck ๐
Thanks guys! I'm feeling really determined. Every run has had its challenges but I'm overcoming them, proud that I'm progressing and getting better. I'll definitely try focussing on landing in the middle of my foot on my Saturday run
Don't worry about speed, I have completed some of my runs slower than I can walk but as long as you are doing it with a running motion then it's fine.
Never be afraid to slow down a little, first time I did C25k I nearly quit as I couldn't maintain the speed as I went form week 2 to week 3, I was then given the secret to the program, slow and steady!
As your body gets fitter, which it will without you even noticing straight away, you will be able to run further and possibly a little quicker but leave speed for after you graduate, just keep doing what you are doing, trust the program and believe in yourself and you will be fine.
No matter what the program asks you to do it is more than possible, just look at what it wants from each run and say to yourself, I can do that.
One of the great things about running is there is never an unsuccessful run, if you don't hit the target you are aiming for then you've still been for a run, just go out and give it another go after a day of rest.
