All week, I have been focusing on remembering that this run is just another run; nothing to worry about. I was excited to start it.
I set my choons up (Earth, Wind and Fire), and off I went. The first five minutes flew by, and I thought Jo must have miscounted. Then it was ten minutes! What was going on? Before I knew it, it was fifteen minutes! Something is going to go wrong, I just knew it. My knee, or ankle, or something, but then she said that I just had a couple of minutes left!!!
Thirty seconds from the end, I lengthened my stride, and went up a gear. I flew, and was most put out when Jo said I had finished! I couldnβt believe it! I had run for twenty minutes non-stop!
Five weeks ago, I thought I was dying after running for just sixty seconds!!! This programme is witchcraft! Itβs not natural! π I am a RUNNER πββοΈ!!! Onwards and upwards! Bring it on!

Great great run. Those gremlins always like to peck at our head saying we canβt do it right to the point of having us convinced something will go wrong at the point that we know weβve got it. Nice finish too... some left in that tank for a fast finish is a very good sign. Enjoy week 6... slow and steady into those intervals.
Hope the cider and peanuts tasted more amazing than usual!
What a lovely post! I'm so glad this run went well for you, but there was no reason it should have gone otherwise as you have been doing so well. Keep it up! π
Just read your post, and you are right to blame your hubby, the dog, the weather, etc.! π Have a good rest today, and try again tomorrow. Tell hubby to naff off if he interferes again! π€£
Well done you! I felt the same and think that long run works because it is such a huge psychological step. Felt I could really do this and hope you can too.
I so enjoy reading these posts but this one really hits home! Iβve just finished week 4 and can see that 20 min run looming. I can only hope my experience is the same as yours when I get there. Well done you!
Cheering you on JamesPoppy3.....π trust the programme, it works. 13 weeks ago I couldnβt run for toffee and now I love it and can run for 30 minutes. Itβs like magic, youβll see π. I know you can do it. Take your time.
Massive Congrats!!...Eart Wind and Fire....I salute you.
I remember that euphoria when i completed my first 20min run. I am still at it now with Parkrun and also my new found friends at my brand new running club. You are a runner...i told myself the exact same. Some days just work like witchcraftery. It's magic spell lives on.
I did just that. Two weeks after i graduated I picked up the courage to attempt Parkrun as I was still not completing a full 5k in 30 mins. I thoroughly recommend it for your next step after C25K. 17 Parkruns later and I am still plodding along but thankful for being more active and faster than i was a year ago.
