A really hard training session at rugby last night meant I woke up aching this morning. I really did feel that I wasn't going to make it today but I set out none the less.

A cold, very dark and very wet morning, meaning I saw no one else at all, or rather no one else saw me running awkwardly and puffing for breath!

I made sure I started out slowly and tried to maintain that slow pace. I must have done that because the last running section was surprisingly ok considering.

Aching legs you can just keep them moving and eventually the pain goes away, or is overtaken by the desperate gasping for air, but this morning even the breathing seemed to settle after a good few puffs, to the point I felt I could have kept going.

For about 10 more seconds.

Maybe 😂

Anyway, I look forward to Monday now and 5 minute runs, just out of curiosity really to see if I'm going to be able to do it.

That would be a huge step and big boost to morale

Just take every run as it comes, if you feel like you can't carry on running, slow down a little and take some deep breaths, forcing your stomach out as you do.

You can do it, just take it slow and steady, a slow jog instead of a run if more than fine.

If you're desperately gasping for breath you will need to slow down even more . When you go out again keep reminding yourself to go slow. Good luck and well done 😊

Well done. A third of the way through the program already.

Just remember, the longer runs are coming, so make sure you watch your pace and dont overdo it.
