Week one done!

Runnerinprogress profile image

So I have just completed my third run of week 1! Feeling pretty proud of myself if I'm honest. I'm still not 100% confident so I may repeat a day off week one before I start week two just to have that little bit more confidence going in. All in all though I am feeling great! This week Ive lost 5lb as well which has definitely lifted my spirits! Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

Great you've now completed wk1. Your confidence will build gradually just like your fitness and stamina. Well done you 🤗🤗

Well done you 👏🎉.

There's a balance to be struck between confidence and challenge. You have all the time in the world, but if you don't give week 2 a go, you'll never know if you can do it!

Good luck 👍

Well done on completing week one. If this is about confidence and not ability, I think you should just go for it with week 2! Completing the first run of week 2 could be a real confidence boost for you and may help you move forward feeling stronger. If you managed week one OK then go for it, keep it slow and slow down when you want to stop. Just an idea and of course, don't feel that you should do anything you are jot happy with.

Your race, your pace. 😁

YouTube Japanese slow running, it is worth thinking about as you should not be worn out by your runs. (I know I was after week one and was shocked at myself for completing wk2r1 at all! But this helped me loads)

Japanese slow running is brilliant. It gives you distance without fatigue and gets you away from the tyranny of timing and PBs. Great for avoiding injuries 👍

That's a great weight loss along with good running. Dont talk yourself down, if you managed 3 runs you'll be fine for week 2, at the same time, if you think you'll get a good confidence boost repeating a run - go for it. This has to be fun and achievable. Run happy

Fantastic. Well done on completing the toughest week! And even more well done on the weight loss.

Hey listen, in my opinion, forget about repeating a Wk1 run. You've proved you can do it 3 times over already. So all you'll really do by repeating a run, is prove it just a bit more.

Take 2 rest days now, and then go for week 2! Take it a little more slowly than week 1 (no prizes for speed) and you'll be fine. If you find it getting tough, just slow down even more.

You'll be amazed at what you can do. And you know what, the worst that can happen is that you struggle to get to the end. So it's a practice run. At least you'll have had a taste of week 2.

Happy running!
