I ran for just a tiny bit longer than 28 minutes because my "no, Jaz, you need to get your butt out of bed RIGHT NOW otherwise you will be late" alarm started ringing on my phone about halfway through and paused the podcast. (I can't be the only one who has multiple alarms!) It took me about 45 seconds to fumble with my running belt, take it out, turn the alarm off, press play on the podcast again and put my phone back in my belt.
But that's okay! I still got through the run and it was an enjoyable one.
I had the AAAHHHH TWENTY EIGHT MINUTES IS SO LONG OMGGG freakout at the start but then 23 minutes in I had my podcast tell me that I had 5 minutes to go and my immediate thought was, "What? OH. Oh, right. I'm running. I forgot about that!" π
Bring on week 8 day 2 - I never thought I would say those words! I'm starting to really like running.
Happy running π

Ah thatβs great! What a lovely and funny post, I can just imagine that situation! Glad youβre really enjoying the running had nice to read about your motivation π
I ran W8R2 on Sunday as part of a group in the village where I live. Was shuffling along at the back thinking about how I was struggling when the person who runs the group said we had done just over 18 minutes. I was surprised we had run so long and thought to myself, only another 10 minutes. This in itself was an incredible thought compared to a few short weeks ago when 3 minutes felt so long. Then I got chatting to some other group members, didnβt hear the final whistle and totalled 31 minutes. So good to be on this journey, already looking at a 10k for May.
I do enjoy the whole challenge of faffing with your phone while trying to run. I had my alarm go off and pause the C25K app during one of the 5 minute runs - I didnβt realise at the time and just kept plodding on thinking my time sense must be bad because I was getting a bit tired. By about 7 minutes I was treating Laura to some strong language for abandoning me. π³
