Three weeks ago I posted that my graduation run had to be postponed because I was called in for surgery at short notice. I was really disappointed I couldn’t complete the programme as planned and worried I would lose fitness and have to go back several weeks.
As it turned out I had my operation and started back by walking daily going a little further each day. After 2 weeks I felt I was ready to give running a try. I did 20 minutes on the treadmill with no I’ll effects. So this morning I put on my running shoes and went for my graduation run. It was a beautiful morning if a little chilly, I took it really easy and completed the run with little difficulty. Which goes to prove what everyone on here says that you don’t lose much fitness over a 2 Week period.
So I have made it. I am so proud of myself and plan to carry on running, I have even entered the Bristol 10k in May so intend to start the bridge to 10 after consolidating for a few weeks.
I am so grateful for all the help and support I have received on this forum, you have all been so inspiring and helpful along the way.
