It’s my graduation day πŸ‘©β€πŸŽ“

β€’45 Replies

I just completed w9r3 and what a cracking morning for it! Just as I was heading home for my warm down walk, the sun started to come up properly!

Happy with my final stats too: According to strava I did 4.36km and according to polar beat I did 4.4km but I’m just glad I did over 4km πŸ˜‚

So I thought I would look back through my posts and It’s lovely to see my progress.

Best run: w5 r3 (obviously) this was a turning point, but also did I it in bucketloads of rain which made it so much more satisfying!

Worst run: w6r3: Only run I’ve considered stopping, but I didn’t give up.

Highlight: w7r1: After W6r3 This run was a game changer.

Low point: ankle injury w8r3 and having to rest. Sitting on the IC made me reassess my input and every other day at slightly longer distances is not good for my joints. It also made me realise how important the strength & flex is in between plus warm ups and warm downs.

I am proud of myself for getting my backside out there and making positive changes in the process.

Thanks for all the positive messages, words of encouragement and help/advice from everyone on here that kept me going! This forum really did keep me motivated to get out there week on week.

Next step: 5k park run at Christmas / New Year maybe 😜

HAPPY RUNNING EVERYONE ☺️

Hi Buddy34, I have just come home from the Coffee Concert in Glasgow, after the concert I had a nice cake and a cup of coffee, I would say that the number of people attending was about the same as yesterday at parkrun, I met some nice people from Bearsden.

Have a good week, perhaps you will increase your distance to 8K some day this week

Regards

Alan πŸ‘

Congratulations! Fantastic news. You have done so well. Great to reflect on the programme & be able to identify the turning point. It’s inspiring for me to see that even an injury couldn’t hold you back. Xx

in reply to BaggyShorts

Thanks very much! I am honoured to have inspired you! I too was inspired on here by someone that had been struck down with injury but completed the program in their own time. This forum is marvellous!
