Great post graduation run.. 5k < 30 mins..

First run today after graduating and decided to ditch Laura, pump up the tunes on the iPhone and use the Spotify > 140 bpm playlist.. MapMyRun set to 5k and "we're off" (after a warm up for 5 mins)....

According to MapMyRun I did the 5k in 25:35... It was a hard run and I purposely made it a flat run and wanted to push as hard as I could... I need to do a Parkrun now!

Next run will be a slower paced 'duration run' of 30 mins...

I have the bridge to 10k in mind but right now I'm loving being able to mix it up a bit after graduating.. When I got tired I knew how to slow pace to recover, when a stitch seemed to come along I knew to breathe deep... This program made me a runner and now I am just loving 'getting out there' and having fun!

Good luck to all of you.. Happy running!

That's a really good time - many congratulations. I have managed the 5k distance but still over 30minutes - you are right about the programme it does get you running. Well done and good luck for the parkrun although sounds like you will manage fine

That's brilliant and a gift you can now take wherever you go - all you need is your trainers!! Great to see the t shirt too! I run with mine on all park runs. Well done again and a truly fast time!

A fantastic run and I will wear the t-shirt to the Parkruns as I'm sure I may just bump into some of you there... We C25Krs are everywhere now!

Great achievement. I'm hoping to wear my graduation shirt (if/when I graduate) on my first park run :)

I'm addicted alright... Can't wait for tomorrow when I can run again.. Been plotting courses today... :)

Times themselves aren't the thing (well - they are a bit) but I think all of us like to see improvements to our pace or duration.. That's the important bit... "personal" bests are the thing to beat! :)
