Here I am week 7 and another long jog, a very long jog. This seemed so incredibly hard today.
My warm up and jog is exactly 30 mins which turns out to be 8 songs on my playlist. After the warm up I’m already 1/4 of the way there! Then the count down begins normally at song 4 where I fool myself by saying look you’re half way through the playlist, then just 3 songs, just 2 more songs come on and finally this is it the last song you can do this don’t give up.
Anyone else experience the same logical reasoning in your head while doing these long runs/jogs.
Ps I still can’t let go of the handle bar on the treadmill for fear or falling as I don’t go very fast, anyone else the same?

I ah e assorts of weird and wonderful things in my head when doing the runs, to many to describe, and most of them nonsensical. But it’s distracting from thinking about how hard it is and that’s what gets us through. 👍😁
I listen to songs and kid myself i can keep going til the end of a song again and again, run outside though so don’t know about holding handles on treadmill although i used to use one and practiced walking very slowly til i worked out my balance then increased speed bit at a time
You are running and finishing that’s what matters, try to get a run outside if you can, it makes all the difference. Hopefully you’ll soon find the joy in running itself and not be waiting for the end. When that stage is reached it’s amazing.
Oh yes, the mind tricks to keep going - I did them all! ! 😂 - & especially in W7.
It might help to vary what you are listening to- I use playlists of favourite music & also bbc podcasts- e.g. Desert Island discs is always interesting & there are so many to choose from.
Also have you considered running outside, even sometimes? - much less tedious than the treadmill! 😄
