We now are back to running after some pretty unhealthy health scares last year. I did post about it at the time, but haven't had the heart to post since, especially as we were no longer runners and had no idea if we would ever be again. Although we have both graduated, we are about to start C25K to gradually get fit again.
But we have started to go to Parkrun every week while we do C25K, albeit mostly walking. We are 68 & 66. Our son, his partner and our daughter come too (they started us off!) and they are 38, 38 and 36. Along with them are our four grandsons. They are aged 11, 10 and two at 6! After Parkrun, we all retire to one of our houses and have lunch and socialise.
Not only a great way to keep fit, but also a great way to keep in touch and also a way of trying to stay around longer to see the grandchildren grow. Not only do we get the obvious health benefits, we also get the mental health benefits from the exercise and the time to spend as a family unit again.

Great to have you back...and with a really positive outlook! Lovely to do the runs together with family too!
Many of us have repeated all or bits of C25K after setbacks..including me...it is great. You know what to expect...no pressure..and you know you can do it.
So...slow...steady...enjoy!
At 69...with my small runner in training..granddaughter...I know exactly what you are saying! X
Welcome back to the Running family That's amazing how you have already done so many parkrun's and heading for your second graduation. What a blessing to have such a close family who can bond over something that makes all your lives better
I too have just repeated the program having been out for four months - so much more enjoyable second time around 🙂. Your positive attitude to your running comeback is wonderful to read. Enjoy!
