Hi there, just saying Hi as a way of committing to starting c25k again. I completed it in 2016 and was so chuffed having never run before. 6 months later I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and have spent the last two years trying various meds to control symptoms. I've had no great joy but have decided after have to retire due to ill health, having stopped regular walking and basically becoming very unfit due to pain and fatigue, that I am going to get back on the horse and start again. It may take me longer as I will have to work with my body and symptoms but I need to do something for my mental and physical well being. So there we are ive said it out loud, written it down and now to start some gentle regular walking before embarking on week 1 hopefully next week. Anyone else out there with RA?
Back after a looping absence!: Hi there, just... - Couch to 5K
Back after a looping absence!
I don’t have RA, but welcome back & best of luck. Go gently & enjoy. 😄
Welcome back. No personal experience or running with arthritis, but I know it can be done. I read this article a while back as my wife has an condition that mimics arthritis... she’s not running... yet.

Enjoy your journey back.
Welcome back Beelady 😊😊😊😊😊
Hello...remember that name! 😊
I have three Beehives now
Congrats! They are fascinating arent they. I had four but left them to own devices since getting ill. Have one colony doing its own thing. Will decided this year whether I can continue or give up but had a good few years with loads of honey. Loved it.
I'm going towards the "Let the Bees be" attitude Looking into going with Horizontal Hives now. Lost two hives last winter, not sure if all made it in good shape this winter yet. I can do without honey but I love my Bees so hoping the "minimal interference" approach works better for them
It's been interesting leaving mine as they have swarmed obviously over past two years so only two hives have bees left in them out of the 4 and that's with no interference. I never thought about the honey when i started but then realised I could take some and so did and really enjoyed the extracting and jarring and giving and eating process but was never happy to take it and replace with sugar so always left good load in for winter. But just keeping bees is great...in fact I guess thats what I've been doing while I've been ill but need to understand why 2 hives now empty🤔
Bees are a mystery. I immersed myself in the literature, clubs and conferences for about a year and basically even the experts disagree
Out of interest...what would your minimal intervention mean practically?
Basically just checking a few times a year to see if there is a viable Queen and maybe taking a minimal amount of honey from any surplus, cleaning out any dead mice and so forth but no messing constantly lifting frames, using chemical for varroe mites, using indiginous Bees and if they swarm, not trying to stop them but hopefully having them chose a nearby empty hive, Deeper frames and good insulation with Horizontal Hives etc
Hmmm sounds good to me
