Hi folks, has anyone else suffered Peroneal tendonitis? Im new to running.I'd reach W8R3 problem free, then fell victim to ankle pain. Physio tells me tendonitis takes 12 weeks to heal. I'm gutted not being able to run. I'm in 3rd week of resting and worried I'll lose all the stamina I'd built up. All advice welcome.

Peroneal Tendonitis.
Sorry you have an injury. You have to listen to the physio and give running a miss. Are there other sports not involving so much trauma on the ankle you could do during recovery. Here is a little free course to look at too which may help to understand the effects of injury on you. open.edu/openlearn/health-s...
😩That’s a hard blow and so disappointing so close to the goal. However the injury couch teaches us much about patience and is all part of the runners learning curve. Excellent advice from Grannytobe Wishing you a speedy recovery 💐🤗
How frustrating! I had to stop for a while with tendonitis in my foot so I do understand. I did everything the physio said, and it was a few weeks I’m afraid. They say after two weeks you start to lose fitness. When I started back, I went back a few weeks and took extra rest days. I still have a few twinges, but I’m sticking to what the physio advised, and I’ve now graduated, so don’t lose heart! Patience has to be learned, and it’s tough, I know. So follow your physio’s advice, and try to see this as just a blip in a long career in running - zoom out and see the big picture. Good luck!
