Tendonitis

I started couch-5k during lockdown, but on week 3 I got tendonitis which was agony and Drs orders was to stop.

I’d like to start again but I’m nervous it will return, and I really cannot afford time off work, anyone had any experience with this?

The only way to really know is to try. Do a week 1 run and see how you feel.

If you're in pain, stop!

I can't emphasise that enough. Don't plough through thinking it's going to pass.

I had painful post-tib tendonitis when I first restarted running after a 20+ year break. I was going too fast and too far in rubbish shoes. After 8 weeks off, I then bought decent shoes, found C25k and stuck to a nice slow pace throughout. Over 5 years and 3500 miles (5500km) later - no re-occurance of post-tib tendonitis at all.

Bottom line - check your pace and make sure it's super slow and also wear decent running shoes that are comfortable.

You're welcome. In addition, consider sticking (not literally, that would be silly) to softer ground initially, rather than road/pavements etc.
