I finished delivering my workshops today, got changed into my running gear and out into Dunblane I ran. I had taken a look at the map and had a rough idea where I was going with the failsafe of always being able to turn around and run back the way i came and the trust in my legs and lungs that they could get me there even if i had to walk.
I got LOTS of slopes to run up and not so many to run down for some reason but enjoyed every second of it until I turned back into the drive way of the hotel. I stopped to take this picture then remembered the hill I came down at the start of my run and the realisation of having to get back up it hit me. Slow and steady I went and I made it 3/4 of the way up before I started to walk for my cool down session.
Including my warm up and cool down I did a pleasant 5.8km in 43 mins and I now feel ready for a shower and the gala dinner ahead. No drink for me as I am plodding on with sober for October but I have a big running buzz to keep me going.
Next run is on Saturday at Parkrun where I am hoping to get a PB

That's the Dunblane Hydro, there is a good walk or run from Dunblane to Bridge of Allen, I used to go walking on that route during the 1990's, just wondering which parkrun you will be running this Saturday? There are a few around the Stirling area.
