Week 9 run 1 done on grass

So far I have been doing C25K on a tarmac path. My local park run course is all on grass/mud so I thought would give running on grass a go. I was worried about slipping on wet grass so I bought a pair of trail shoes this week. This morning I tried them out on my PR course. The shoes gripped the soft wet ground well and I felt confident I would not slip. Running felt much more comfortable as there was none of the jarring I get on tarmac because of the soft ground. The pace was slower and I only managed 4.65 km in my 30 minutes whereas I had managed 4.71 km on my previous run which was 28 minutes. Nonetheless It was an enjoyable experience and I am proud I have completed my first 30 minute run. Onwards and upwards. ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ˜€

Oh I want to try trail runs. What shoes did you go for?

Asics gel venture 7. My road shoes are ASICS too so I knew they would fit. They have good grip but are not waterproof.

Iโ€™ve heard people say to avoid waterproof shoes for running as they can actually trap the water inside. <slosh, slosh> Not an appealing thought!

Sounds lovely. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ Part of my regular route is on grass & I love it even though itโ€™s slower. Iโ€™m sure itโ€™s good for the legs! ๐Ÿ˜Š
