I’ll TRY and keep this short-ish
(compared with my usual posts...!)
Had no real plans for this run yesterday morning, just wanted to have a little shuffle around the village. I probably should’ve gone with a chilled playlist, but the classic punk rock was already there and I was like... yeah... whatever...
Took a new route down to the beach along some long leafy footpaths with a mix of tarmac trail and grass running involved for around 2.5K. Had a little issue trying to get through the footpath gate down to the beach... did consider just running at it and jumping it, but probably needed to be a tad taller for it to work effectively 😄
Had a nice blast down the beach path. Little nod to a fellow runner, young lad that I’ve seen a number of times now ...he looks bloody quick 😬 Then back up onto my usual stomping ground.
Nice big push towards the end and felt pretty puffed, 5.06K in 30 minutes, average pace of 5’57” per km ...all good. I hadn’t planned to go that pace on this run... but that’s the punk playlists fault
...I suppose 😳
Happy I’ve done the 5K again so soon though, at least I know it wasn’t a freak one off for graduation now.
I’m now in Carmarthenshire, Wales 🏴 visiting friends. So consolidation run 2 will happen here on Saturday morning. Really looking forward to my first run in the beautiful Welsh countryside - will keep you posted 👍
Here’s to some happy running this weekend 🙌
