Temperature inversion this morning over the Moray Firth only just cleared. Much car scraping for those at sea level under the fallen sky. Looked beautiful from above with clear blue skies. Time to dig out hats and gloves. Take care there

I moved away from Moray (halfway between Forres and Grantown) in 1986. Whilst not common, I can remember a couple of occasions when there was snow on the ground on my birthday (first week of October). Granted, the summers did tend to make up for it...

Happy belated birthday. We live high above Inverness with the most spectacular views across Moray Firth to northern mountains, I did wonder if there’d be snow this morning but dry last night. Should think first mountain snow will be soon.

It was fantastic. Everyone was so polite and friendly, it is so orderly, the scenery was fantastic and the food beyond description.
