Day 1 ....

Just getting ready to start, so it's really good to see so many positive messages and runners graduating from couch to 5k. Need an exercise that sticks!

App all set up (Sarah Millican), light drizzle outside, just need to find my trainers ...

Can anyone tell me how far I need to walk/run on day 1?

You will do runs for 60 seconds and then walk for 90 seconds :) stay slow!

Have you not got the app downloaded?

Eight one minute runs, seven ninety second walking breaks.

Lovely, thanks. Have the app, just don't want to finish too far from home!

There’s a bell that rings halfway through so you can judge how much further there is to go. Good luck 😁

Thanks, I heard the bell after I turned but had slowed down quite a bit by then, so the shorter walk worked!

Good luck with run 1, it will change your life! It's the hardest run of all so take it really slowly. The instinct is to run hard for those 60 seconds, but take it very slow and you'll be fine! Let us k ow how you do!

Thanks, though I might have to speed up if I see someone I know!

Haha that does tend to happen a bit 😆

Don't worry about how you think they think you look, they'll just be impressed that you're out there doing it!

Great for getting started, just go slow and slower again if needed. Make sure you're drinking plenty water, 2-3 litres 7 days a week it will really help.

C25k is an amazing plan and really does work you'll get lots of encouragement and support on here good luck 😊

Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision.

The guide will tell you that you don't have to cover any specific distance or move at any particular speed......... C25K is duration based.

Enjoy your journey.

Congratulations on deciding to start C25K! If you’ve downloaded the app then there’s a ‘half way bell’ that’ll ding so you’ll know if you’re doing an out and back run then you can turn around and head back home. Good luck! And don’t forget to Let us know how you get on 👍🏼

Thanks everyone, for the advice and encouragement. Have officially completed my first run, feeling really chuffed (and Sarah Millican was a good choice)!
