It was such fun to go out this morning & do my first solo run. I have ditched Jo Whiley😢& taken on Strava.
What a feeling to be out in the sea breeze watching the world wake up. I managed 5k today at a very slow snail pace. My goal is to do it within 30 mins but that will come in time. For the moment I am basking in post grad glory. What a gift 💝 from Cto5K

Brilliant!! I’m at your heels. Usually I’m in a Birmingham park but this weekend it’ll be st Andrews sands ! You’re very lucky with your marvellous beach . Well done!!
Fantastic and 5k too, you must be so happy. Nice to be finished plan and choosing next targets. I conquered that yesterday in a run with hubby just over 33min with gentle hills chuffed.
If you're missing Jo Wiley, there was an idea I had (haven't tried it though) would be to use like the week 1 schedule to do interval training - so run fast for the minute "run" bits and jog slowly for the "walk" bits.
I'm currently using the SPEED C25k+ podcast with Laura, which gives 6 reps. But I reckon Week 1 of C25K would be a good template, and you can get your own favourite trainer back.
How brave to ditch Jo, Annie! Well done - but don’t overdo it! Consolidation runs should be 3x30 minutes for 3 weeks to continue building up your strength. How slow was your slow - mine would be about 52 mins for 5k. I suspect yours might have been faster! Happy running!
It was 40 mins but will be sensible & stick to 3x30mins specially as I am going to Canada next week. High altitude! Thanks for the reminder!! I had read all about post grad and didn’t think about the time!! Xx
Wow Annie - so pleased for you ! Bask away - you deserve it ! Can’t wait to get to that point either . I have registered with Park Run so that’s my next goal when the time comes . Agree such a fabulous plan
When I graduated I started listening to my own playlist which really encouraged me, because no matter which song came up next it was one of my favourites. I’ve also downloaded NRC which lots of people on here rave about, but I haven’t actually used that yet, something to look forward to when I’m off the IC.
Well done Annie ! You have done amazing !! I knew you would get there and you have. Your enthusiasm and focus is truly an inspiration to others ! Enjoy your running and have a fab weekend x
