Week one failures. However, hopeful resit this week:)

Week one, I managed 4 days of exercise. Saturday work kept my busy. Sunday I came on my period and decided to rest. Monday , my period hurt so much I decided another rest day would be wise.

Still not managed the cycle of week one yet. However, I walked for ten minutes. Ran for one minute. Walked for 5 minutes and repeated 3 times.

Hoping tomorrow I feel up to exercise. Will try to increase the difficulty of what I am doing. I am taking it slowly as I am very unfit.

I have altered my diet as I am in Azerbaijan. Here British food is hard to come by. So I have to eat like a local. I think it is a bit healthier too.

No failures on here! If you went out the door in your suitable shoes, it can’t be failure - consider it practice instead. Life gets in the way of plans, and period pains are gruesome, so well done you for getting going anyway. 👏🏼 LOTs of us have had practice runs!

Be sure to read the hints and tips in the pinned post for new runners from IannodaTruffe. It’s full of wisdom & useful links to further reading if you want to follow things up.

And Azerbaijan. 😳😄 Exciting, but perhaps lots of adapting if you’re new to it. Enjoy, and enjoy your running, and welcome to this forum.

You are right. Lots of adapting. Getting used to the ideas people have here.

Some I am not certain I agree with, But I am willing to try their way, like don’t drink with meals. Never drink cold drinks in winter, don’t eat fruit after a meal wait an hour.

Their salads are different, It’s really a collection of herbs. It’s interesting, eating dill , mint and tarragon

Fascinating. But very different. We can all learn.... 😊 Changing countries is always huge, even if the change is temporary. Enjoy all your new experiences, including C25K.

Oh dear, please please stop saying failure. You are a star. You are away from home, different food, periods. You got out the door and exercised- that is to be celebrated. Take the runs slow - really slow then you may find you can manage that elusive 1 1/2 minutes, but whatever, you are still out their rather than still on the couch 🏃‍♀️👏

Thinking of you as you grapple with all this. Try to be gentle with yourself x

Never use the F word here on C25K, you are in Azerbaijan, I think that is the first time we have had someone from that Asian country, in the Stepps of Central Asia, you say that the diet there is healthier than the UK, good, just take all your runs slowly, that way you will be OK with your running, you can repeat any weeks or runs as much as you wish to, onwards and upwards, enjoy your stay in Azerbaijan.
