W4 R3 Hi all , Really struggling with painful , tired achy legs whilst jogging 😖I do suffer with varicose veins , can anyone recommend compression socks to help ease this ?? I also drink 2 litres a day so it can’t be that . Many thanks peeps xx

I know of a long term runner who had to stop running for a year, while physios investigated in vain to find the cause of his calf pains.

Now he wears compression socks while running and for 24 hours afterwards is back running regularly.

It impressed me.

Worth a try.

Make sure you fully stretch after each and every run as per the guide to the plan.

You could try upping your hydration. I drink 2.5 to 3 litres of fluids every day.

Compression socks can be fantastic, however-do make sure that the top of the sock doesn’t cut in on you, thus not supporting vein flow in that area.

Other than that-running is great for helping your circulation/blood flow to lower body as you’re exercising the right areas (ankle, knee, groin) that keep your lower body pumping.

I like compression socks after a run - mine are made by Hilly & are like tight knee socks and a struggle to get on. But very comfy after the struggle. I use them after long runs & they do seem good. Running in itself is good for circulation, I think. Certainly cured my cold feet! 🤣
