Great park run

Well what a way to celebrate 15 years of Park Run. Wasn’t out to set a PB, but did it. I wondered why I was getting tired after the first circuit then looked at my watch and realised why. I was running at my fastest pace yet. Knocked 36 seconds off. 31.14. Let’s hope I can keep knocking those seconds off and do 5K in 30 mins or less.

Great you enjoyed your parkrun on its 15th birthday and knocked some time off. 😊

Good morning Buddy34, 25th birthday, hmmm, that should be 15, I just hope that parkruns are still taking place in ten years time. 😊 🏃🏾

They’d better be AlMorr - at the rate I’m moving at the moment it’ll take me that long to be able to run 5k!!

O come on Oldgirlruns you will be able to run a 5K in 10 weeks, not 10 years, just take the 5K once you do run it as you ran the runs on C25K, slow and steady, perhaps you could sign up for a parkrun. 😊

Oh yes, I’m already a PR convert! I’ve done 4 so far - 1 as tailwalker and the others as walk/runs. Though at the last one I managed to trot 4.5k, so that was progress! But the whole thing took me 52 minutes so there’s plenty of room for improvement! I’m also a PR volunteer and now have my 25 T-shirt! Very proud of that I am! Thanks for your encouragement - you can be sure I will be posting here immediately I get in from my first full 5k run!! Happy running!

After I finished my parkrun yesterday, I walked back the last 300 metres of the course, there were 47 runners behind me, so as I was walking in the opposite direction I cheered on some of them, I did speak to one of the volunteers, she told me she had a minor heart condition so she volunteer's rather than runs, she is starting to recognise me as a regular despite the fact that I go to that parkrun once a fortnight, rather than every week, I told her that originally I only intended to run a parkrun once a month but I like it so much that I run it once a fortnight, not a month, she congratulated me for starting and hoped to see me back soon.
