I'm doing C25K to support my 19 year old daughter - I used to run years ago, so knew I could probably do it - she's starting from zero though.
Tonight was our first "homework" away from the running club, where we ran as a group for the first time last week. We were tasked with doing 10 sets of 2 minutes running, and 1 minute walking - twice during the week if we can. Tonight was our first go at it.
A funny thing happened - Miss 19 went from complaining about everything in the first five minutes, to forgetting all about it, and then suddenly realising we were already at the 7th set, and that she was DOING it.
Bit of a proud Dad moment Suddenly she's seen the other side of running - that after the hard work, comes accomplishment, pride, and the beginnings of some confidence.
