Going very well. So far wishing I could run more and have less walking but resisting temptation and following the programme.

I need to get some new running shoes. Currently using a pair that I have had 12 years when I last regularly used to run and used for playing badminton more recently.

I had forgotten what a potential minefield choosing a pair of shoes can be. Ideally it's always best to try on a pair of shoes. However there is far more choice and better prices on line. I know many will say its the wrong way to go but there really isn't a great selection in Sports Direct my local sports shop. As I have previously run I know I need neutral shoes as I had my gait tested and checked. I tend to then look for a shoe which is yesterdays model as there is then a good discount.

My feet are wide so I tend to buy New Balance. The colour of the shoes is unimportant.

Before I start week 3 hopefully I will have a new pair of runners

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Stick to the plan.............12 years of non running and aging have to be acknowledged.

There is a link in the guide to the plan about shoes, which may be helpful.

Enjoy your journey.

Great for getting to wk2r2. Also you're doing the right thing by sticking to the plan plenty time to do more running as you progress. Im with you on the buying of trainers, I got a pair recently last year's model and they were half the price of the most up to date one.

C25k is an amazing plan and really does work you'll get lots of encouragement and support on here good luck 😊

Ha ha yes. The shoes come in such exotic colours which after a few wears won't matter once they get muddy. As a shopper I'm not an impulsive buyer I like to compare all of the merits and price before buying so I am a shoe porn admirer!
