As is customary and almost obligatory... here's a picture of my new running shoes Since I started running last year I have used a cheapish pair that were thrust in my direction from a spotty oik at Sports Direct.... well what did I know!!!
Went to Runnersneed in Exeter where a VERY helpful assistant called Max ran me through Gait Analysis and correct shoe sizing. For info, they are Asics GT-2000 3.
Very happy with my purchase and I hope to take them out for a test run later. I also like the colour as I appear to have a lot of blue/florescent yellow kit...

Our local branch is bad, but the staff do their best but they seem to lack training. Apparently the boss has to get the stores up to scratch or Nike will pull the plug. SD HQ is a cathedral of Nike and is a million miles from most other branches where pile em high, sell em cheap seems to be the order of the day. The main place is just amazing in contrast, and the staff are well trained and knowledgeable. They have a gait analysis suite too with two machines. It looks really smart. I'll have to go and try it out and report back on what the service is like.
Daps!! Brilliant. That's what we used to call those black plimsolls with the stretchy bit at the front when I was a lass: £4 from Woolies! Rather liking the Asics version
Oh yes, daps! And then when I was about 12 I got my first pair of ... hmm ... did we call them trainers? Anyway, they were Dunlop Amber Flash because we couldn't afford the "Green Flash" that everyone else had.
Ooooh nice!!! What do spotty oiks know!!! That made me laugh. So true though!!! Hope you have a great run later!! Keep them clean though!!! Avoid puddles!! Mine are still yellow orange and green splatted from the blacklight run!!!! Dont think they will ever be the same again!!
Ooh, very swish!
Your post title reminds of my first day in Primary School after moving from West Yorkshire down to Somerset (I was five). We had PE that day and I was told to go and get my dap bag. Not having a frickin clue what the teacher was saying she very kindly translated for me ... to which I replied in a *very* broad Yorkshire accent ... "Ohhhh, you mean me pumps".
Great looking shoes Andy. I switched from Nike to Ascis 1000, they were in the sale and cheaper than 2000, I find them much more comfortable than the Nikes.
