Now that the dark nights are closing in I am becoming more and more aware of how vulnerable I am on the runs near my home. I won't have the option of running during daylight other than a weekend so my partner suggested I try the local harriers running club.
I contacted them and advised them as to the distance and speed I am running (I start Week 9 next week) and they responded very positively with advice as to which evening would be best for me based on my current level. All positive so far.... however I am a little bit nervous that they will take a look at my 'running' and not think I am good enough or that I simply won't be able to keep up.
Also, are the club get togethers really competitive and based on challenging everyone or are they more just a friendly run together?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
